Puerto Rico
Time does fly by fast! I recently flew to Puerto Rico this past Holiday. My last visit before wasn’t since 2017 so long overdue trip. Puerto Rico is very dear to me. It's not just a beautiful vacation spot, it's also a part of my heritage my family is from there. It warms my heart to finally see my relatives again making time to visit them is important. I don’t want to let that much time pass for the next visit.
Having traveled to PR in reconnecting with loved ones, opens my perspective, and the opportunity to see new sites and cultures. Traveling is so refreshing. Additionally, the weather is perfect this time of year. It’s been a nice break from my current environment living in the Northeast is such a different world compared to Puerto Rico. If it was up to me, I would have stayed in Puerto Rico longer.
One of my favorite adventures in Puerto Rico was on December 30th exploring Old San Juan in the evening into the night. It is a very lively, historical, and beautiful city. The December air felt nice, warm, and comfortable nice to be short-shelves, and the area is also where cruise ships dock and there was a garden and walkway decorated in magnificent holiday lights along with a magnificent Christmas Tree where visitors were taking pictures next to the tree. The Holiday light show is amazing!
After touring around the beautiful Christmas lights we found a restaurant and were seated around 9pm my mom, sister, her family and I sat in the outside patio on the cobblestone sidewalk and as the Papaya meals and drinks where served, shortly after a musical group called La Parranda appeared at the entrance of the restaurant to playing Puerto Rican instrumental music included, el Cuatro, el Güiro, La Guitarra and the cowbell. People there started to dance and sing with the music. I even got up to start clapping and dancing too. It was so lively!

Then the group moved to the next restaurant continuing up the street, to also play there as part of the holiday festivals. After finishing dinner and walked across the street to visit a charming hotel, a small luxury hotels of the world called El Convento where my parents stayed for their honey moon 46 years ago. Then we kept walking exploring then grabbed ice creams, afterwords we all drove back to the AirB&B. Great night!
